Our annual championships will begin on Friday February 21 2026, and will run for 4 weeks (Feb 20, Feb 27, Mar 6, Mar 13). To receive points in championship events, you MUST qualify for those events by swimming them at a regular club night BEFORE the start of championships. Your last opportunity to swim qualifying swims will be Friday February 13.

On championship nights, we’ll also be running a number of non-championship events, however to ensure that the night runs to schedule, we ask that ONLY swimmers who aren’t competing in the long-distance events enter these events, and that swimmers only enter a maximum of 3 events each night.

All swimmers are encouraged to enter their Age Championship and either the Junior (under 13) or Senior (13+) Club Championship.

As we have a large number of events we are asking that cards be submitted the week before, if possible, as we need to commence our night as close as possible to 6pm. If you are unable to submit your cards early, could you please make sure they are in by 5:45pm on the night so that we can get the races underway promptly from 6pm. Also, if you can assist as a time keeper, we would really appreciate your help!  Please enter no more than 3 events on championship nights. We run special “non-championship” events for those swimmers not competing in long distance events, but if you are contesting the club championship then please don’t enter non-championship events.

Age Championships:
Your age for the championship is as at 31 December 2025. Swimmers 7 years and under swim 25m events, but can elect to swim in only 50m events provided they’re able qualify by having previously swum 50m times faster than 2 minutes in at least 3 of the 4 strokes. All swimmers 9 years and over are required to swim 50m events. Swimmers who are 8 years of age can select to swim 25m or 50m (but not both) and must have qualified for the distance they choose. To qualify for an event, you must have swum it at a club night prior to the first night of championships (February 20 2026).

Club Championship:
Only those swimmers who have swum each event from the Junior or Senior Club Championship Program
at a regular Club Night (not a carnival) at some stage throughout the season are eligible to receive points for that event in the Championships. Other swimmers who have not qualified may compete in the race but will not receive points toward the Club Championship for that event.
